minor oral surgery 口腔小手術

Examples of minor oral surgery involves gum surgery (eg. Crown lengthening, gum grafting), wisdom tooth surgery and surgical extractions of fractured teeth, impacted teeth.

Most minor oral surgeries would be done by our team of experienced dentists however more complex cases will be referred to our team of in-house specialists. All minor oral surgeries are performed under local anaesthesia so that you would be pain-free during the procedure.

After the procedure, we will be expecting to have some mild tenderness for about 2-3 days. Post operative pain is commonly dealt very well with the use of painkillers and anti-swelling medications to ensure you have a smooth and painless recovery.

All oral surgeries are Medisave claimable depending on the level of complexity of the surgery. As the price of surgery varies greatly, please do get in touch with our team to have an accurate quotation and to find out how much Medisave can be used for each surgery.

When do I have to do crown lengthening?

  • An aesthetic treatment option when the overgrowth of gum makes your tooth appear small or short
  • The vertical height of your tooth is short thus restoring the tooth would be unpredictable
  • Very deep cavity that extends far below your gumline

When do I have to remove my wisdom tooth?

  • Wisdom tooth causing a food trap that risks decay to itself and the adjacent tooth. In most cases, this will result in episodes of gum swelling.
  • Fracture of wisdom tooth
  • Cysts forming around the wisdom tooth
  • In some orthodontic cases where we want to move the teeth at the front backwards

When do I have to surgically extract my tooth?

  • Very badly decayed tooth where the tooth is too brittle
  • Tooth is already fractured below the gum levels
  • In some cases of very dense bone
